I’ve watched Clement Marfo & The Frontline grow over the past few years and with their dedicated fan base and amazing live performance set up, it’s a blessing to see that CMTF are finally getting some serious recognition.
It’s almost 3am on a Saturday morning and my viewing of the completely turd Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony has been overshadowed by a certain discussion erupting on Twitter regarding the latest attempt at a marketing buzz surrounding the Haiti disaster.
Firstly, i am not against Charity Singles. I actually love the idea of the world’s biggest media forces using their manipulation for the great of good once in a national disaster. I mean, lets bang out a video of every major urban artist (bar Jay-Z who already got in first of course with Mr i will chop my arm off to be known as a philanthropist Bono… and Eminem, who i just assume is probably in India rehearsing his voice?). For those of you that are not already ready aware, November, is also known as Movember, as the month to raise money for a charity of your choice by growing a slug across your top lip.
So my boy DJ Grind has been growing a beast of a beard for the whole month to raise awareness for Prostate Cancer, and while tomorrow being the 1st of December, meaning he technically should be cleaning the up the tramp look, i personally think he should keep the scruff… So does Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s MistaJam
Myself and Team Supreme are also reaching out to any Artists or influential people that are interested in supporting the cause. if you wish to record a similar video drop, please please do, and send it to either myself, info@iamluca.co.uk or directly to DJ Grind at djgrind@djgrind.co.uk.
Hit the jump for a video from Master Shortie supporting the cause also!
Ok, this hasn’t been done before to my knowledge. Having a short flashback conversation with my boy Mr Stylus reminiscing the good old days when UK Garage was on top of the music scene. I started out extremely influenced by the UKG scene and attempted (i say that with a pinch of salt) to emulate DJ EZ. His skills and techniques within sets would embarrass any other DJ and the way he could cut up a tune whilst an MC was freestyling over the beat was ridiculous.
I had to upload one of the biggest sets for you all to appreciate how big it was back in the day.
Garage Fever 2003! Shout out to the legends in the game, DJ EZ, MC Viper, B-Live, CKP, Sparks & Kie on this one.
Leave comments if you appreciate the flava raver! This is BAWSE !
After seeing Whitney on X-Factor this weekend it’s safe to say she’s back and in celebration of her new track Million Dollar Bill, what better way to say congratulations than with a free download eh?
Also, download the Freemasons Remix. It kills the original. BAWSE
The originators of what we know as Grime and Garage are back. With a new album dropping in November, So Solid are gonna be big again me thinks. Shout to my boi J Fresh, official So Solid DJ. BIG
DAMN! This is BAWSE! LL Cool J is too cool, and his story telling ability is epic. Had me creasing up in laughter at his impression of Russell Simmons. Black Thought, Questlove and Jazzy Jeff absolutely killing it…. Killing it!! And for Eminem, what is there to say?
He’s coming back ARD!
