March 3, 2011

Upcoming internet sensation Milly Allen has partnered with The Monarch Camden for her latest ‘Milly’s World’ music showcase.

Former Tottenham Hotspur player Paul Allen’s daughter Milly is billed as the ‘antidote to The X Factor’. Following a fantastic launch night at the Embassy Club, Mayfair, and events at the prestigious Proud Camden, she’s working with television Production Company who’ll broadcast highlights and interviews as Milly features Britain’s brightest and most vibrant unsigned acts across the web. You can also find updates from Milly at Musicology Magazine.

For Camden girl Milly, the Monarch is a natural home for ‘Milly’s World’ and the line up of her Camden Event has already created a buzz of excitement across NW1:

Maverick Sabre
Milly’s World ‘s One to watch London born, Irish raised singer-songwriter Maverick Sabre is breaking the mould with his Guitar playing hip-hop reggae sound and I can only describe him as a little Firework . Beautiful but dangerous
Dynamite and definitely not one to be missed, and he is the only person to ever perform at Milly’s World twice this is a real Exclusive!!

Aruba Red
Is a breath of fresh air with a mixture of sounds such as reggae, dub, acoustic, soul and her own experimental style.Aruba is an independent young woman who speaks openly about her political views and puts all the conveyor belt pop stars of today to shame. Watch out for Aruba you have been warned!!

Ash Catch’em
Moroccan born and raised in West London Ash started rapping on pirate radio stations and after a short break is back doing Music where he belongs
He has his own organic Style unlike anybody else in Uk rap scene at the moment. He has the full backing of the SBTV boys which speaks for itself.

Rufio Summers
Is an artist songwriter and producer who’s sound has been growing along with the buzz around him, he started of in Rock Bands and his sound has grown over the years along with the buzz surrounding his name. He is Milly’s World very own Lenny kravitz

Along with DJ Layzee the music at ‘Milly’s World’, The Monarch Camden, will be as breathtaking as it is diverse. Miss this one at your peril!

October 12, 2010

I’ve watched Clement Marfo & The Frontline grow over the past few years and with their dedicated fan base and amazing live performance set up, it’s a blessing to see that CMTF are finally getting some serious recognition.

We Are The World 25 – But What’s a Justin Bieber?

February 13, 2010

It’s almost 3am on a Saturday morning and my viewing of the completely turd Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony has been overshadowed by a certain discussion erupting on Twitter regarding the latest attempt at a marketing buzz surrounding the Haiti disaster.

Firstly, i am not against Charity Singles. I actually love the idea of the world’s biggest media forces using their manipulation for the great of good once in a national disaster. I mean, lets bang out a video of every major urban artist (bar Jay-Z who already got in first of course with Mr i will chop my arm off to be known as a philanthropist Bono… and Eminem, who i just assume is probably in India rehearsing his voice?). 21 Days To Create A Habit – My Challenge

January 5, 2010

Yesterday i decided to get back into the blog game, i was actually sitting in the steam room at the leisure center when i began to brainstorm. I hadn’t written a decent post in a while and where the majority of my readers type the iamluca url and expect to watch a new music video or free download, i hate to disappoint but that chapter has taken a leap off a 80 story tower block. If you do want your daily Urban Music fix i suggest you check out my good friends at Team Supreme, cos they have the Urban Music Blog game locked down.

Back to the story now; so i am sitting in the steam room, towel over my head and all that, deep breaths soaking up the aroma and Aloe Vera the chap next to me has sprayed, when i remembered something that Andrew Davis told me a few weeks back. Now for reference, Andrew is a mentor, a colleague of mine, and the creator of The Worst Kept Secret.

“If you do something 21 days in a row it becomes a habit.” Andrew stated. I don’t usually question Andrew, i prefer to just Google something and i haven’t yet found a time when he speaks out of his arse so i can take his statements as a valid argument. Read the rest of this entry ?

Get Off The Bench And Into The Game!

January 4, 2010

On the 24th March 2009 i had the idea to create a blog. My words at the time in my first post were “I created this blog with an idea of what i was going to chat about, but more of a decision to just get on it and get busy with it. Blogs are happening and people are reading them… which means there are people that wanna know more about something and for me that’s an opportunity in itself.” Intuitive right? That’s what i thought…

That was as Andrew Davis says, “Getting off the bench and into the Game.” For the first few weeks i was blogging about anything and everything, but in time i realized the gap i saw was that no-one on the South Coast (where i was living at the time) was blogging at all. More to point, no-one was talking about the entertainment scene, and it got me questioning.. If no-one is talking about it, then how can anyone outside of those towns know about it? That’s where i guess i wanted to start. Read the rest of this entry ?

Mistajam Raising Prostate Cancer Awareness

December 1, 2009

For those of you that are not already ready aware, November, is also known as Movember, as the month to raise money for a charity of your choice by growing a slug across your top lip.

So my boy DJ Grind has been growing a beast of a beard for the whole month to raise awareness for Prostate Cancer, and while tomorrow being the 1st of December, meaning he technically should be cleaning the up the tramp look, i personally think he should keep the scruff… So does Radio 1 and 1Xtra’s MistaJam

Myself and Team Supreme are also reaching out to any Artists or influential people that are interested in supporting the cause. if you wish to record a similar video drop, please please do, and send it to either myself, info@iamluca.co.uk or directly to DJ Grind at djgrind@djgrind.co.uk.

Hit the jump for a video from Master Shortie supporting the cause also!

Polar Bears – Plane Stupid (Video)

November 20, 2009

It’s been an age since i blogged

We have a problem. We’re flying too much, and it’s changing the earth’s climate. Aviation is the fastest growing cause of climate change. But instead of doing anything about it, the Government is planning more flights and larger airports.
