Mr Hudson – The Jumpoff King [Real Talent Breakthrough]

July 24, 2009

Whenever anyone speaks about Mr. Hudson, i always like to mention that i’ve been a fan of his since he won the Jumpoff back in 2005. See below:

He was part of the scene down at Carnaby Street’s ‘Deal Real’ Records and released his first EP through them called ‘Bread and Roses‘ in 2006. The first time i saw him live was in 2007 after he had released ‘A Tale of Two Cities’ and i actually managed to catch him live with his band, The Library at the annual Love Box Festival in Victoria Park, Hackney. I was working as a barman at the festival and chose to take my (15 minute) break whilst he was performing. Even back then he was a big deal and had jam packed out one of the big tents.

Now two years on and everyone’s on Mr. Hudson. All i can say is, it’s a long time coming. Mr. Hudson is one of few cases of a real breakthrough talent. His songwriting and production skills cannot be underestimated, and his vocal arrangement and delivery is second to none. Any artists that are lucky enough to work with him will be blessed with originality and creativity beyond belief and i know Kanye West will definitely be rubbing his hands together on a daily basis after securing such a class act.

Here’s the video to his latest single Supernova:

Vodpod videos no longer available.

Supernova is out NOW and can be purchased here.

His album Straight No Chaser arrives on 5th October 2009.

So as you made it to the bottom, hear is a freebie for you and it’s one of my favorite Mr. Hudson tracks. Enjoy
